Olympic Summer Fashion

Well, the Olympic Games will soon be upon us. Whether you fall enthusiastically into the ‘Go Team GB!’ camp or remain apathetically indifferent, Avant-garde has mixed this summer’s latest fashion trends to bring you the looks that can subtly show off patriotic pride whilst remaining street smart and stylish.

The Casual Look
Opening Ceremony and Adidas Originals recently collaborated on an Olympic inspired collection that blends a range of sporty separates with bright bandana patchwork prints (See above). Certainly they’ve let their creative imaginations run wild, but it proves that the Aztec print is most definitely ‘in’ this summer. I didn’t see it coming either, but hey the more I look at it the more it works so this T-shirt from H&M works pretty well as so do these Aztec print plimsolls from River Island.
Match these with a pair of Evisu Baily Wash Slim Fit Jeans from Urban Outfitters and you’ll have an outfit casual enough to wear out and about but fitting for when the events come up on the pubs TV screen.

The Retro Look
The world’s biggest sporting event and some old skool sport brands; you can’t go wrong. Keep an eye out for some retro tops and hoodies in charity shops and fashionable second handers like Rockit and Wow Retro, namely items in reds and blues like this 80’s Adidas red track top.
Mix with some slim/skinny or vintage jeans like these black DKNY straight legs and some white converse trainers and you’ve got a vintage look that's ready to go.

The Smart Casual Look
Looking for a touch of sophistication? Then look no further than a navy marl and white striped t-shirt from topman, a pair of chino shorts from ASOS all topped with a stylish slant pocket summer blazer from Nigel Hall. Complete with pair of classic 2-eye boat shoes in white, dark blue or brown and with this ensemble you’ll be the toast of the party when you herald in the opening ceremony upon your yacht.
