Hot Girl of the Month - September

Well I’m calling it – the Rogue’s vote for hot girl of the month on Avant-Garde! I was previously planning to pitch someone else for September but noticed this girl and felt she deserved it more considering recent music trends - it just made more sense to vote her in now rather than later….plus she’s hot.

So who is this show-stealing flirt that so scandalously grabbed our fickle attention and swayed our hearts? Well unless you’ve been living under a rock we’re going to assume that you’ve already listened to Gangnam Style, the downright extraordinary pop sensation that’s gone viral and spread across the globe. Number one in 18 different countries, 240 million views on youtube (and climbing) and currently number 3 in the official UK charts, we have to ask just what has made this K-pop track so damn successful? Could it be PSY’s tongue in cheek style, the bombastically catchy rhythm, that funky horse riding dance routine? All good reasons, but for Avant-Garde we love it for Hyuna Kim.

Who’s Hyuna Kim? She’s a singer/ dancer/ rapper/ designer/ model from South Korea and she’s also the lead dancer in PSY’s Gangnam music video (she’s the one on the tube train that grabbed our attention). But rather than posting the standard version of Gangnam, as much as we love it, we thought we’d post Hyuna’s alternate version of the song. Named 'Oppa is just my style' we get more vocals and camera angles of Miss Kim and frankly that’s never a bad thing - everyone sing along now: ‘Heeeeeeeeeeey sexy baby…’

But that’s not the only reason we like her; Hyuna’s ability to seemlessly blend cute with seductive makes her a temptative force to be reckoned with. Avant-Garde put some serious research time into this (and by that I mean watching many vids on youtube) and found videos of Hyuna doing her impression of pikachu (aww c'mon that's adorable) followed by her music video 'Change' which was banned on local music channels for its controversially provocative dance movements. But we shall leave you with Bubble Pop!, one of Hyuna's most succesful releases to illustrate our point as we think it’s able to capture both sides of the girl pretty well. Even if you're not a fan of K-pop we think you’ll approve.
