Kingdom Hearts 1.5: Remix

There are two ways to effectively promote a game. The first is a well thought out and meticulous process, with teaser trailers carefully planned and screenshots strategically released. The second is when one of the team inadvertently puts a pic on a social media site…gotta love the internet.

Like many fans of the Kingdom Hearts franchise we’ve been desperately waiting on news (ANY news!) for the possibility of Kingdom Hearts 3, so when Jesse McCartney - who voices Roxas in the English version of the games - posted a photo on Instagram with the description "For all you 'Kingdom Hearts' Fans. Recording the next chapter! #KingdomHearts #Roxas #Gamers." understandably fans worldwide went a bit wild.

But slow your geek infused imaginations folks, in all probability this is NOT Kingdom Hearts 3. That will probably be a treat to look forward to on our next gen consoles. More likely what we’re seeing here is Kingdom Hearts 1.5 ReMix - a HD compilation of Kingdom Hearts, Kingdom Hearts Re: Chain of memories and vids from the DS game Kingdom Hearts 358/2. Square Enix revealed last year that they were working on the PS3 project but labelled it as a Japan only release for March 14th 2013. BUT if they’ve got their American voice-actors working on the project odds are an American (and hopefully a European release) will be on its way too?
Jesse’s Instagram post has been removed but since the cats pretty much out the bag on this one Square Enix, very tactfully, released some awesome HD screenshots from the game.

So if you’ve got a PS3 and missed out on the handheld adventures in the Kingdom Hearts series, fingers crossed you might get to play through them soon. Also with Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance released last year and now Remix coming to consoles it’s clear that Square Enix is keeping the franchise fresh in our minds – surely Kingdom Hearts 3 can’t be too far off?
